Disabled Washrooms is a UK specialist in accessible and Doc M compliant washroom products and refurbishments. Its customers include contractors, architects, the NHS, care homes, hotels, schools and public buildings. Disabled Washrooms sits within the same family-run group as Commercial Washrooms and grew out of LAN Services, a washroom installation business founded in 1999. From its head office in Poole, Dorset, and a second office in Bexley, Kent, it supplies across the UK and, more and more, abroad.
The range runs from Doc M toilet and shower packs, grab rails and level-access shower trays to Changing Places equipment, hoists, anti-ligature fittings and bariatric products. Much of it is technical, compliance-led and often bought as part of a larger project. Disabled Washrooms needed a website that could guide buyers through that complexity as well as take orders.
Envisage Digital has partnered with the group for many years. When Disabled Washrooms set out to build its own online presence, we designed and built a brand-new Magento 2 website on the Hyvä theme.

Envisage Digital designed and built a new, responsive Magento 2 Hyvä website for Disabled Washrooms. It is a standalone brand with its own catalogue and customer journeys. It also benefits from the platform knowledge and experience behind the award-winning Commercial Washrooms site. The new site drives online sales directly and feeds high-value project enquiries to the in-house design and sales teams.
Disabled Washrooms needed to launch a specialist online store from scratch that would earn trust quickly in a technical, compliance-driven market. It also had to serve a wide mix of customers, and each group needs something different from the website:
Contractors and trade buyers want to find the right product quickly, see clear pricing and buy on account.
Architects and specifiers need technical detail, Doc M guidance and help putting full washroom layouts together.
Healthcare, care and public sector buyers need specialist ranges, such as dementia-friendly, bariatric, anti-ligature and Changing Places products, plus sector pricing.
The site also had to practise what Disabled Washrooms preaches. A business built on accessibility needed a website that was accessible: clear, readable, easy to navigate and quick on every device.
Envisage Digital worked closely with the Disabled Washrooms team to understand their customers, products and sales process. We then designed and built a Hyvä website around three goals: find it, specify it, buy it.
Shop by Care Type: We added routes for Dementia, Changing Places, Mental Health, Bariatric, Hotel & Luxury, and Independent Living & Care Homes. Buyers can start from their setting, not from a product name.
Clear category structure: Showering, Bathing, Grab Rails, Disabled Toilets, Basins & Taps, Accessories, Bathroom Furniture and Changing Places are organised so a large technical range stays easy to browse.
Washroom Visualiser: This configurator lets customers design a disabled bathroom layout and select compliant products in one place.
Project Quoting: Customers can get quotes from drawings, sketches, specifications or rough measurements. This turns complex multi-room projects into qualified leads for the sales team.
Trade Plus Credit Accounts: Trade customers can apply online for 30-day credit accounts, and NHS and healthcare buyers can sign up for discounted pricing.
Content that builds confidence: Case studies, buying guides and Doc M advice sit alongside the products, helping customers specify correctly the first time.
Building on Hyvä from the start gave the site a lightweight, fast front end that performs well on mobile and passes Core Web Vitals. That matters to a customer standing on site with a phone in hand.

The Results:
Disabled Washrooms launched with a fully responsive Hyvä Magento / Adobe Commerce website. There were 3,500 unique visitors in the first month of launch and a five figure quote was requested using the website quotation tool.
